What treatment options can be performed during a visit?
Skilled treatments include but are not limited to: assistive device assessment and modification, gait training, balance training/exercises, strength training/exercises, vertigo assessment and exercises, safety assessment and recommendations, Home exercise program creation/implementation, skilled clinical massage soft tissue work, stretching, and joint mobilizations. Activities of daily living such as bed mobility, shower transfers, stair training and outdoor ambulation are included as well.
How long is a typical visit?
Depending on complexity of case, you can expect the initial evaluation to run between 60-75 minutes and a typical visit around 45-60 minutes. Vestibular assessments may and often do run longer than stated times in order for thoroughness required for proper diagnosis and treatment.
What insurance do you take and will I have out of pocket expenses?
I am affiliated with all Blue Cross Blue Shield plans including Medicare Advantage plans as well as traditional Medicare plans.
Medicare plans cover 80% of Mobile physical therapy visits, and your secondary insurance if you have one covers the remaining 20% (thus no out of pocket cost for you). If you do not have a secondary insurance than the remaining 20% will be your responsibility (typically on average $20 per visit). As an FYI, at the beginning of each calendar year all Medicare patients have a deductible (often covered by your secondary insurance). Please ensure to check with your insurance if this deductible has been met and if it is covered by your secondary so as not to have an unexpected bill.
Please see your Blue Cross Blue Shield plan for plan specific details in regards to copays and deductibles.
Do I need a doctor's referral before getting started with you?
No doctor's referral is necessary for my initial visit and assessment, after the first day I will develop a plan of care and obtain the appropriate signatures from your doctor for you. No communication to your doctor is necessary to get started or get therapy approved, leave that to me!
